If you have used Outbrain for any amount of time over the past few years or more, you will recognize that they have offered Real Time Reporting before its largest rival Taboola. Real Time Analytic is super valuable within Native Platforms like Outbrain and Taboola to get a true sense of how the campaign is performing at any given moment.
Until today (July 17, 2024) Real Time Analytics was a completely separate page within the Outbrain UI. While still extremely valuable, required multiple additional steps to display that data.
Outbrain has now included this Real Time Report directly inside the Date Picker in the advertiser UI. This is something that Taboola has had for about a year now and is heavily relied upon by us here at BrightWebConsulting. While this is a great step forward, it misses the mark in terms of being beneficial to advertisers.
My disappointment in this update is that this new Real Time Reporting only shows the “Last Hour” of data, which unfortunately is not that helpful. What would be more helpful is to show us Real Time “so far today” which I believe is what this used to be when it lived on a different page within the Outbrain UI.
